TWELVE APOSTLES AND ULURU

Hey guys, summer is coming, but so do hollidays, and it's time to start preparing our vacations. Today I'm gonna show you two of the most beautiful places in Australia. Those two, aren't as the ones I have talked in other occasions, they are touristic, but in a different way. The Twelve apostles and Uluru, are natural monuments, famous for it's natural beauty famous in the whole world.

The Twelve apostles are a group of limestone rocks, that come out of the sea. They are located in the state of Victoria, in Port Campbell National Park. Originally, they were part of a limestone cliff, but the waves ocassioned by the sea, wore the cliff, until only nine stones ( the Twelve apostles) were left. As you have just read there are only 9 stones, because the 3 missing have been destroyed by the waves in the last 10 years.

This second photo, was taken just an hour left one stone got destroyed a few years ago. 

The second place were I would go if I were in Australia, Would be Uluru, or more popular known as Ayers Rock. This massive rock it's located in the Northen territori of Australi and the nearest town, is Alice Springs, which is 400 Km far. It's 349 m high, and it is know as the worlds belly button.

Uluru, was where in old times, aborigens lived, and nowdays there are peolpe, mainly aborigens who live there. 

A curious fact about aborigens and Ayers rock is that if you have a look at the aborigens flag, tou can see a red stripe and a black one, and in the middle a yellow semicircle. The red stripe represents the floor, the black stripe the sunset, and the yellow semicircle represets Urulu.

MELBOURNE

Hey guys! I'm Maria, and this is my own blog on blogger. Today I'm gonna show you one of the most crowded cities in Australia. This city is called Melbourne, and it's the biggest city in Australia. It is the capital of the state of Victoria, named by one of the British Queen's name. It has been the capital of Austalia for 26 years (1901-1927), and in 2011, it was chosen as the best city to live in in the whole world. Melbourne has its own flag:

There is a river which goes through Melbourne, so the peope takes ferrys to go from one side to the other one, just like in Seattle.

The city of melbourne hass too many atractives, but the place in Melbourne i liked the most, is Chinatown. Chinatown its located within the center, and the east of the city. There are plenty different restaurants in the area, but the best thing of Chinatown is the Asian food festival, which is held normally in Sping. In this peculiar festival,there are cooking demostrations, food stalls... Furthermore, there are a lot of shops, and my favourite one it is in a shopping centre located in the middle of Chinatown: Victoria's secret.

I also went to another place, where at the begining, I wasn't really happy to go, but in the end, i liked it. This place is Queen Victoria Market, which was built by the British empire. Queen Victoria Market, is one of the biggest open air markets. Currently, the Market is a big attraction for tourists, and the market sells all kinds of fruits and vegetables, meat poultry and seeafood, and delicatessen food. There is a non-food related market, where clothers, shoes and jewellery are sold.

SYDNEY

Hey there!! Today I'm gonna show you, the place of Australia where i had more fun! It is a very touristic city, and it is called Sydney.

Sydney, is one of the most populated citys in Australia. It is the capital of the state of New South Wales. It is located at the southeast of Australia. Sydney is a very rich city, furthermore it's rated as the best place to live in the world. Sydney is a ver touristic city, because it has too many diffrent things too see and do.

The  most popular builing of Australia, it's located in Sydney, and it's called Sidney Opera House. It was designed by a Danish architect caleed Jorn Utzon, and it first opened on 20 Octobe 1973 after Jorn Utzon was selectioned as the winner of an International design competition.  The sydney Opera House was opened by Elisabeth II, who was the Queen of Australia. The event was televised and it included Beethoven's music and fireworks.

But we haven't arrived yet to the best part: Bondi Beach. Is one of the most popular Beaches in Australia. It is popular for its waves, and cristaline water. The most part of the surfers of the whole world, have gone at least one time to bondi beach, includeing myself, basically because it has some of the best waves conditions ever.

Bondi Beach is an exposed beach break that can work any time of the year. The best wind dirction to create waves in this beach, is from the south. The beach breaks off are lefts or rights. You should be aware of sharks, rips, rocks and sharks.

CAIRNS

Hey!!

Today I'm going to show you a city located in Queensland, at the northeast of Australia. It has a population of 150,920 people. It is popular for its tropical weather, the animals of the zone, but the biggest attraction, is the coral reef barier, which is at less than an hour far by boat.

Cairns is one of the most popular destinations in Australia. The city it's not very pretty, but it has its own airport, a lot of hotels ubicated in differents points of the city, and lots of shops, like Victoria's secret, which is my favourite one;). This city has very different kinds of things, but it hasn't got a beach where people can swim, because of gellyfish and crocodiles. This is a huge problem in summer, so they put nets in a delimited space of the beach, so the people can not be attacked by dangerous animals.

If you are someone who loves diving in the sea, this is the perfect place for you, because there are a lot of companies, who take you by boat, to the most awsome coral reef barier in the whole world. The trip is not very expensive and it takes all day long: first you dive in one part of the reef, then you have lunch , which is cooked in the same boat. After that, you can rest for a while, while you are having a sunbathe at the top of the boat. Finally you visit another part of the reef, and you go back to the port.

WHITSUNDAY ISLANDS

Today I'm going to show you the place where the third most beautiful beach of the world is located. 

It's a group of islands situated at the north east of Australia island, in the region of Queensland.. There are only three inhabited islands, and I went to the most beautiful one: Hamilton Island.

The main advantage is that is next to the coral reef, so you can go diving and enjoy the reef, whenever you want to. The island has its own airport, which is pretty small. It has many different hotels, and some apartments. There is a free bus, which gets you to anywhere in the island, and connects the diferent hotels. There island is full of swimming pools, restaurants, and shops, but there is a small zoo, where you can take photos of yourself holding a cute koala. And if it's a rainy day, you can go to the bowling ally, which is located next to the airport, but the most famous thing about that island, are the boats which get you to the most beatiful beaches: The Whiteheaven, and Hill Inlet. Those beaches have white sand, formed by the wear coral, and turquoise waters.

The set of islands is formed by seven islands:
Hamilton island, which has a population of 1347 people, and an area of 5 Km2.
Hayman island, which is uninhabited, and it is pretty small.
Daydream island, which is popular for its reef, and it is uninhabited.
Long island, is a long shaped island whith an area of 13 Km2.
Whiteheaven island, where whiteheaven beach is located.
Lindeman island, created by a volcano in the middle of the sea.
Dent island, it's next to Hamilton island, and it is famous for its huge golg club.

NOOSA HEADS

Hey guys!
Today I'm going to show you my favourite place in Australia: Noosa Heads.
Noosa Head is one of the major centres of Noosa region, on the Sunshine coast, Queensland, Austrlia.

Noosa Heads is one of the best places because you can do all sorts of things: Go shopping, visit the zoo, go swimming... but the best thing you can do in noosa heads is surfing.Boiling Pot on the North coast is an exposed point break that has inconsisten surf, works best in offshore winds from the south. Waves just as likely from local windswells as from distant groundswells, and the best swell direction is from the northeast. The beach is often crowded and you have to beware of sharks, rocs and jellyfish.

 I'm Maria Cardona, I'm from Barcelona and I'm 13. Each week, specialy on Thusdays I'm going to show you some of the most amzing places where I've been, mostly from Austrlia. I've chosen this topic, because I really enjoyed my trip to that incredible big island, and I would like to be able to show other people some of the most awsome places in the whole world.

Australia, is a big country, which in fact is the largest island in the world. It has a population of 23,13 milions of people. This big island is between two big oceans: the Indian ocean at the west, and the Pacific ocean at the east. Australia is in Oceania, which is formed mainly by Australia, New Zeland, and more pretty little islands. The official lenguage is english, and is spoken by the most part of the population.
